Today's article contains details about the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED as well as the best reviews about how proper it can be for you. Let's begin.

  • Its official name is Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED. This laptop is 13th generation.
  • It has a Core i9 or Intel Core i9-13900H processor.
  • RTX 4060 graphics card. Including an OLED color touch display.
  • 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD.
  • 16GB DDR5 RAM. If you want, you can upgrade it by adding 32GB to get a total of 48GB RAM.

Many other things make the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED an ideal creator's companion. Let's start its review.

Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED Built Materials

We reviewed it with the black color variant. The entire body of the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED uses aluminum alloy which is a very lightweight material. As a result, it weighs 1.6 kilograms. Which is not too heavy, and can't be called super lightweight either.

Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED ventilation and thickness

It is also quite lightweight compared to the specifications that it offerings. Being quite a powerful laptop, air exhaust vents are provided on three sides to keep it cool. Back, left side, and right.

On the back side of the laptop monitor is the Zenbook logo, which is very minimal. As a result, this laptop gets a very clean look. Its thickness from the side is 17.9mm.

So it can be called thin, not like the ultra-thin laptops that are there. As it is a powerful laptop, the air exhaust vent is also provided here but more.

Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED Screen and Touchpad

Ok, if we open it up we can see a 14.5-inch 2.8K display with the keyboard and touchpad at the bottom. So I want to talk a little about the touchpad first because that is pretty expanded and it has unique features.

The touchpad features something like a dial. You can use this dial for multiple purposes. Especially for those who work creatively.

If you want to make the Photoshop brush smaller and larger, its circle dial touch will work, and you can use this dial to increase the volume in Adobe Premiere Pro or any other software, even in Windows. So, I found it quite useful.

But you have to go through a learning process and get a bit used to using it, and then you get the used test of it. By the way, you can turn it off if you want, there's an icon in the corner of the touchpad that you hold and slide down to turn it off.

Besides, the touchpad surface was quite large and smooth, and everything from tracking speed to the rest was very accurate. Thanks to Microsoft's precision technology, the multi-finger gesture was working very well. The two buttons on the touchpad were clicky and smooth.

Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED Keyboard

Backlit keyboard. Everything is there except the Numpad. I had a very good experience typing with it. There is also a travel distance of 1.4 mm and very good feedback.

Also, the keyboard doesn't sound too crazy, so it's a minimal-sounding keyboard. The type of keyboard used for editing or work purposes is provided. A very ideal keyboard. But I think adding Numpad would have been better.

Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED Display

I think the display is one of the best selling points for Asus. Its features are presented in point form -

✓ It has a 14.5-inch OLED display.

✓ 120 Hz refresh rate.

✓ Its resolution is 2.8K or 2880 × 1800.

✓This is a 16:10 aspect ratio display, resulting in more vertical space.

Since it is an OLED display, the colors come out very nice. In fact, since this is a laptop made for creators, Asus has done a lot with color accuracy. I think this is one of the best color-accurate displays for Laptops.

This OLED display offers –
  • 100% DCI-P3 color gamut
  • PANTONE Validated Display
  • TUV Rheinland certification
  • VESA HDR certification
  • It is said to emit 70% less blue light emission
Since it is a touch display, gorilla glass protection is used. If you buy an extra Asus pen, you can also draw here. Overall, I like this display very much. While editing, I noticed that it can produce better colors than my normal laptop.

This OLED display gives vivid colors and the display brightness is also sufficient. It is a little glossy display and for creators, a little glossy laptop is given, because the anti-glare coating doesn't hold the color right. Other than that, the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED display is absolutely perfect.

But many may think that 4K resolution would have been better. I believe that too. I think a 4K resolution instead of a 2.8K resolution would have been more appropriate.

HD resolution webcam

Speaking of the webcam, There is a full HD resolution webcam over the display.

It has many AI features. For example, you can blur the background, and fix eye contact, the sound system is formed with many features that you can enable from the My Asus software. All tested, and they work pretty well.

Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED ports

✓ There is a full-size SD card reader port on the right side of the laptop.

✓ Two USB-C ports, one of which is Thunderbolt 4 and another USB Type-C port of USB 3.2 gen 2 protocol.

✓ There is a 3.5mm audio jack port on the left side.

✓ A full-size USB-A port which is of USB 3.2 gen 2 protocol.

✓ Has an HDMI port - HDMI 2.1.

✓ A DC-In charging port for charging.

Its overall performance

Performance-wise, we tested mostly editing with it. However, we did some synthetic benchmarks, the scores of which are shown in the image below.

Still, real-life experience matters more than synthetic benchmarks. Because many factors are at work here.

Ok, we recorded 4K video with our high-powered Sony a7s3 camera and edited it with this laptop. These are the videos recorded in 8-bit. I did not face any problem editing these videos on this laptop. There was no problem while editing especially in a single layer.

But in the case of multiple layers, after taking an adjustment layer to grade the colors, when I added some effects, the laptop was working a bit slowly. Although this is expected from a laptop.

If you talk about 4K video editing then you can edit smoothly with it. But our recommendation is that if you buy this type of laptop for editing then you can definitely use it for dual purpose.

Another good thing is, that it has MUX Switch. After enabling it you get better performance because the graphics performance will be much better.

By the way, this is not a gaming-centric laptop though. Still, we tested some games on it and the games were playable.

I have to say it's a powerful machine. It is capable of running triplet games and we were getting playable fps in every game.

Can Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED handle the heating issue?

But here's another nice thing I noticed that it was handling the heating issue properly. Because Asus has done a good job with thermals in this product. Asus calls this thermal technology Ice Cool Thermal Technology.

It has dual fans, five heat pipes, and four vents in total. Its fans weren't making too much crazy noise either. That is, Asus has managed to neutralize the heating issue 100%.

By the way, from the Asus preparatory software, you will get several fan probe files, and you will get many performance moods, from there you can select the mood you like.

However, if you want to do high render editing, you must connect the charger, because then you can edit in best performance mode or turbo mode.

Its Battery and Sounding

Before discussing the battery, I want to talk a little about the sound of the laptop. The speakers provided in it are Harman Kardon certified. But we get better-sounding speakers than this in some Asus laptops. Its sound is ok, but I don't think super good quality.

Regarding battery backup, we were getting about 5-6 hours of backup by browsing, editing, gaming, etc. You will get more battery backup if you use a little more light like normal use instead of normal gaming. It will be sufficient for you.

Before concluding, it comes with Windows 11 Home, along with a one-year subscription to MS Office, which is absolutely free.

Conclusion

Share your opinion about the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED in the comment box. However, I found it to be an ideal laptop in terms of performance and power. Those who have a budget can take it.
