Unboxing & First Impressions

The Amazfit Bip 5 arrives in sleek packaging with the smartwatch, a magnetic charging cable, and a quick-start guide. The moment I took it out, I noticed how lightweight (26g) it is. The 1.91-inch display is much bigger than other budget smartwatches I’ve tried, making navigation easier.

After pairing it with the Zepp App (available on Android & iOS), I customized the watch face and enabled Bluetooth calling. Setting it up took less than 5 minutes—a seamless process.

Display & Build Quality – Premium Look Without the Premium Price

The Amazfit Bip 5 features a bright 1.91-inch LCD display that offers crisp visuals indoors and outdoors. While it’s not an AMOLED screen, the color reproduction and touch responsiveness are impressive for its price.

The plastic body is durable yet lightweight, and the silicone strap feels comfortable even when worn all day. I wore it during workouts and daily activities, and it didn’t cause any irritation or discomfort.

✅ Pros and ❌ Cons of Amazfit Bip 5 Smart Watch based on using

Pros Cons
✔ Large, clear display ✘ No AMOLED display (but great for its price)
✔ Lightweight & comfortable
✔ Multiple watch face options
✔ Supports a variety of workouts
✔ Automatic workout detection

Performance & Features – A Smartwatch That Does More for Less

1. Bluetooth Calling – Stay Connected Without Your Phone

One of the biggest upgrades in the Amazfit Bip 5 is Bluetooth calling. The built-in microphone and speaker allow you to make and receive calls directly from the watch.

During my tests, call quality was clear and loud enough indoors. However, in noisy outdoor environments, I found myself switching back to my phone for better clarity.

Real-life scenario: I used the watch to answer a quick call while cooking, and it worked great! No need to reach for my phone.

2. 120+ Sports Modes – Your Fitness Companion

Whether you’re into running, cycling, yoga, or even dancing, the Amazfit Bip 5 has over 120 workout modes to track your activity.

I tested it during a 30-minute treadmill session, and the step count and heart rate tracking were fairly accurate compared to my other fitness devices.

3. Health Tracking – How Accurate Is It?

The Amazfit Bip 5 comes with:

✔ Heart rate monitoring

✔ SpO2 (blood oxygen) tracking

✔ Sleep tracking (light, deep, REM sleep analysis)

I wore it overnight, and the sleep tracking results matched closely with my other smartwatches. Heart rate monitoring was consistent throughout the day, and SpO2 readings were fairly accurate when compared with a pulse oximeter.

4. Battery Life – Power That Lasts

Battery life is a major selling point for me, and the Amazfit Bip 5 did not disappoint.

  • Up to 10 days on typical use
  • Up to 5 days with heavy usage (Bluetooth calls + continuous heart rate tracking)
  • Charges from 0 to 100% in about 2 hours

I used it for a week with moderate usage (notifications, workouts, heart rate monitoring) before needing a recharge.

✔ Long battery life compared to competitors

✔ Fast charging

"It wouldn't let me download new watch faces. Eventually the app began to perform nicely. Glad it did. It's not loaded with premium things but it does a lot and enough for me. Alexa is nice. Free watch faces really nice. Music app good. Step tracker good. Recieved text and calls nicely. Keeps in touch with you about your activity and Weather app good too. I think will enjoy. App on phone really good. Connectivity good. Charge last long time."

"I have had a couple of Amazfit bip watches over the past few years and have really appreciated the fact that the models I chose could go 10-12 days between charges. Not all of the watches from this company have such long battery life. The more features the phone has the faster it will go through a battery charge. This phone keeps track of sleep patterns, can be used to time exercise intervals, and be used to collect performance data while Im riding my bike. The things I am not impressed by are the Blood oxygen detection feature that requires staying still for close to a minute it to get a reading. My finger tip sensor, for that application, gets an answer in a couple of seconds. The sleep monitoring feature never detects REM sleep for me. I don't think that is accurate. The part of the phone app that tracks cycling performance keeps annoying me by audibly providing data Im not interested in. There does not seem to be a way to turn those announcements off for this app. I was a bit annoyed when they made me purchase an analog display option for this phone. On previous models there was an analog display included among the options that came with the phone. In spite of these negatives I like this phone because of the long battery life."

"Had 2 cheap smartwatches before this one. The first broke in 1 month and I sent it back. The second worked but didn't do what I wanted so I returned it. This one has been working well for several months. I usually only have to charge it once a week for about an hour. My wife has to charge her old FitBit Versa every other night. I wasn't interested in the health features of this watch so much as the convenience features- I can get texts, alerts from my car, phone calls, calendare reminders, etc and no longet have to carry my phone around the house. I wish I could watch videos on it but they haven't perfected that yet. A great value and an impressive app that comes with it."
